OddsRecord

About the record

Publish first. Score later. Keep both.

OddsRecord exists to make sports probabilities inspectable after the outcome is known.

What this is

The site publishes pregame probabilities and the evidence needed to interpret them: timestamps, model version, sample size, calibration and a hash-linked record.

What this is not

It is not a sportsbook and does not accept bets. It does not sell picks or turn a probability into a command. A 70% forecast still loses about three times in ten if it is well calibrated.

Why the record cannot be edited

Predictions are immutable in the database. A correction creates a second entry instead of replacing the first. Each row’s hash includes the previous hash, so a quiet historical edit is detectable.

Why the bad stretches stay

Short runs are noisy enough that selecting only a good one can manufacture almost any story. The public record begins with the first 16 Week 1 forecasts and grows from there; it is not filled backward with games whose outcomes were already known.

What earns a page

The site publishes a small set of explanatory pages and the actual forecast record. It does not generate thousands of matchup pages from thin schedule rows. More pages will appear only when each one has distinct data and a reason to exist.
